      Bristol City vs Reading Predictions

It has been a tough start to life in the 2nd tier for Bristol City after they cruised to the League 1 title last season. They’ve got just 5 points from 7 games and are in the bottom three coming into this game but it’s far too early to suggest they will have a similar sort of campaign to the nightmare time they endured the last time they were at this level.

They are an attacking side and won’t shy away from that despite conceding 15 times in their 7 games so far this season. They have caused problems for all the sides they have played and it should be no different here.

Given Reading have also been in the goals of late, there should be quite a few at Ashton Gate on Saturday. Prior to a 1-0 defeat at home to Derby in midweek, when Orlando Sa was sent off in the first half for Reading, they had netted 10 goals in their previous 3 games, winning them all but also conceding in every one.

Both teams have scored in 75% of Bristol City’s outings this season and in all of their home games so there is plenty of logic behind backing both clubs to score in this game too at 4/5.

The way Reading have been playing of late, you’d have fancied them to come here and win having demolished Brentford and Ipswich in recent weeks. However Orlando Sa, who was a key figure in both those games is now suspended after his moment of madness on Tuesday and although they carry other threats, they might not cause Bristol City quite so many problems and some of that positive momentum will have been burst by the defeat to Derby.

Bristol City picked up a decent 1-1 draw at Preston in midweek and will take a bit of confidence into the game. They have scored 5 times in their 3 home games so far, so you can see them bagging a couple again her but the problem is they have conceded twice or more in all of those matches too.

Therefore a 2-2 draw looks like a decent correct scoreline bet and you can back that to be the case at 14/1.
