Crystal Palace to Win

Reason for tip

Palace haven’t lost to any side they’ve faced currently outside the top six, having claimed victories at Sheffield United and Manchester United. The Eagles can take full advantage of the Clarets, who have lost eight of 10 league games and each of their five home league games so far.

Crystal Palace 1-0

Reason for tip

Palace have produced two 1-0 wins on the road already this term, while they meet a Burnley side who have conceded 11 goals in the first half of Premier League games this season, more than any other side. Back the Eagles to get ahead early and guard their lead.

Burnley vs Crystal Palace Predictions

  • Burnley have lost eight of their opening 10 Premier League games
  • The Clarets have lost all five home games so far this term
  • The visitors have won twice on the road already this season
  • Each of Palace’s defeats so far have come against sides in the top six

Another blow for Burnley

A 3-0 defeat to Everton in the Carabao Cup in midweek was the latest setback for Burnley, who sit second from bottom in the Premier League after a dire start. The Clarets have lost eight of their first 10 games in the league this term, while they’ve been beaten in all five games at Turf Moor.

Vincent Kompany’s side had been projected to finish comfortably in midtable, but so far they’ve failed to hit their stride in the top-flight. Even an ease in the strength in their schedule hasn’t helped, while a home clash against a shrewd Crystal Palace side looks troublesome.

Eagles on course

Roy Hodgson returned to save Palace from the drop last term and he’s set to take them clear of the drop this time around too. The Palace boss has led them to 12 points from 10 games, putting them seven clear of the drop already.

These kind of games are the ones Palace will target for points. That’s clear from their results so far, as each of their four defeats so far have come against teams placed sixth or higher heading into the weekend. Outside of that, they’ve won two of three away trips, while they’ve conceded in just two of their other six games overall.

Clarets to fall short again

Turf Moor no longer seems like the fortress that Sean Dyche created and Kompany’s side come into this one on the back of four straight defeats in all competitions. Their only win this term came against a Luton side predicted to struggle, while they toiled for a point away to Nottingham Forest.

Palace have beaten Sheffield United and Manchester United away this term, so they’re capable of showing up and piling on the home side’s problems. The visitors look well priced to add to Burnley’s struggles, so back Palace to come away with the points.
