Bursaspor vs Konyaspor Predictions
Bursaspor sit three places and four points ahead of their Monday night opponents Konyaspor with just four games of the Super Lig season remaining. A victory for the hosts could see them move back into the top ten, depending on how Yeni Malatyaspor fare on Sunday against Akhisarspor. Konyaspor have a better goal difference than the two sides above them, so if both Akhisarspor and Antalyaspor lose over the weekend, a Konyaspor victory would take them up two places in the Super Lig table.
When Konyaspor played host to Bursaspor back in December the visitors somehow came away with all three points and a 3-0 scoreline, despite being dominated for the majority of the game. Bursaspor played a counter attacking style from kick-off and took the lead as early as the seventh minute through Romania’s Stancu. Konyaspor continued to dominate possession and created chances of their own, but an off day in front of goal would end up costing the hosts dearly. In the thirty-second minute Kembo-Ekoko made it 2-0 after good work from Faty who claimed an assist, and in first half stoppage time Behich put the game beyond doubt to make the final score 3-0. The second half saw Konyaspor maintain possession and create chances, but in the end Bursaspor stood firm and claimed all three points.
Konyaspor may have been well beaten in the end when the pair last locked horns, but the visitors head into Monday nights game as the clear form favourites after they picked up three wins, two draws, and one defeat from their last six matches. Bursaspor go into Monday’s game on the back of a 4-1 win away at bottom of the table Kardemir Karabuk, but with just the two wins and four defeats from their last six matches, their overall form has been poor. Konyaspor are unbeaten in their last five matches and have not conceded a single goal during that period, so Bursaspor are going to have to be at their attacking best to break down the visitors defence. At the back Bursaspor have been poor of late, keeping one clean sheet and conceding eight goals in their last six matches, which bodes well for Konyaspor.
Stancu, who scored the opening goal when the pair last met, top scores with eight league goals for Bursaspor this season. Skubic has netted seven times for the visitors but could miss Monday’s game through injury, which means veteran forward Eto’o will take on the goal scoring responsibility. The former Barcelona striker has scored five times for Konyaspor in just ten appearances, with four of those goals arriving in his last five matches.
We’re confident that Konyaspor will continue their good form on Monday night and take something from their trip to Bursaspor, and have backed the visitors with a double chance bet. In terms of a final score, we don’t believe there will be much, if anything, between the two clubs and have sided with a narrow 1-0 win for the visitors.
