Cadiz vs Celta Vigo Predictions
Celta head to the ancient coastal town of Cadiz on the back of two defeats in La Liga and although they still occupy 5th place, they will be keen this mini-slump doesn’t turn into anything more serious which is what happened in the middle of last season when they went on a massive goal drought immediately after winning at the Camp Nou.
This game provides them with a good chance to get back on track with a win against lower division opposition in the form of Cadiz, who only made it through via the expulsion of Real Madrid for fielding the ineligible Denis Cheryshev in their 4th Round tie.
Although the game was ultimately scrapped from the record books, a much weakened Real Madrid side ran out 3-1 winners at the Estadio Ramón de Carranza with Kike Márquez grabbing a late consolation for the hosts. Cadiz are in 4th place in their section of the 80 team regionalised Segunda B and have only been beaten once at home this season if you discount the Real Madrid match.
There is though a huge gulf between Spain’s top flight of which Celta Vigo are one of the better sides and the country’s 3rd tier and even if the Galicians make some changes, which they are likely to do, Celta should have too much. They aren’t likely to change their entire eleven given they have been presented with a golden opportunity to reach the Quarter Finals and they won’t want to mess it up. It’s worth noting they were comfortable winners in the 1st leg away from home at Segunda Division Almeria in the last round and at 11/10 the top flight side look good value for the win again here.
Celta have been excellent this season and they should be able to do a professional job on Cadiz by dominating possession and limiting the chances the Andalusian side gets. At 15/2 you can back them to secure a comfortable 2-0 victory.
