Cadiz to Win

Reason for tip

Cadiz should be confident of beating one of the two teams below them after overcoming Atletico Madrid in their last home game. Granada have lost nine of their last 10 away games in La Liga and picked up only two away points all season, so a home win looks likely here.

Cadiz 1-0

Reason for tip

Granada have failed to score ins even of their last 10 away La Liga games and, although Cadiz suffered a major goal drought in the winter, their potency has been boosted by the arrival of experienced striker Juanmi. He got 16 goals in La Liga for Betis a few seasons ago and has grabbed three in his first five starts as Cadiz have begun scoring at an improved rate of one goal per game. Five of Granada’s away defeats this season have been by 1-0 so that looks the most likely outcome here.

Cadiz vs Granada Predictions

  • Cadiz beat Atletico Madrid in their last home game
  • Granada have lost nine of their last 10 away games in La Liga
  • Cadiz have scored five goals in five games that Juanmi started

Cadiz still scrapping but Granada look like a lost cause

Tensions will be high at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla where relegation-threatened Cadiz and Granada meet in Friday’s La Liga fixture. Both teams will enter April in the bottom three with victory for the hosts here still not enough to close the five-point gap to Celta Vigo in the last position of safety.

Granada look like a lost cause as they are eight points further back of Cadiz and seemingly cannot sort out their rotten away form. Bar one surprising performance at Barcelona when they grabbed a 3-3 draw, Jose Ramon Sandoval’s side have taken nothing on their travels since October.

The Nasrids have collected only two away points all seasons and look unlikely to get anything here against a Cadiz team that have been given a boost by the winter acquisition of ex-Real Betis and Southampton striker Juanmi.

Juanmi has lifted the Yellow Submarine

He scored twice in their 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid earlier this month to add to another crucial goal in February’s 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo. Cadiz had scored only one goal in seven La Liga games before Mauricio Pellegrini installed the 30-year-old in his starting line-up and Cadiz have scored a goal a game since.

Granada recently changed coaches with Sandoval replacing Alex Medina after a 3-2 home loss to Real Sociedad, but the man who saved them from relegation in 2014-15 could not work his magic straight away in a 1-0 defeat at Mallorca last time out.

A similar result could be on the cards for Granada, who have failed to score in seven of their last 10 away La Liga matches and have suffered five 1-0 losses on the road in the league already this season.
