Cesc Fabregas got a rude awakening in his and Como’s first game in Serie A, with the newly promoted side beaten 3-0 by Juventus.

They have spent plenty of money to assemble a star studded squad, with Andrea Belotti, Raphael Varane, Alberto Moreno, Pepe Reina and Alberto Dossena arriving in the summer.

The latter came from today’s opponents Cagliari, who stayed up by just a single point last term.

They did take 25 points at home compared to 11 on the road however and have made some interesting signings over the summer.

It remains to be seen if Como’s scattergun approach to recruitment will pay off this term but it may take some time to gel.

However it’s hard to have full faith in a Cagliari side that won just eight of their 38 league games in 2023/24.

The smarter play may be both teams to find the net, which has landed in five of the six meetings between these two teams.

Cagliari did well to hold Roma to a draw in their opening game but they may have to settle for the same fate here, take a 1-1 draw for correct score purposes.
