Brazil 2-0

Reason for tip

Cameroon have conceded four goals in their two World Cup games and Brazil have opted to keep it tight at the back so far. They have scored three times and beat Serbia 2-0 in their opener.

Indomitable Lions face unscalable mountain

Cameroon played their part in one of the best games of the World Cup so far last time out but they will have a hard time putting three past a very solid Brazil team on Friday.

The Indomitable Lions took the lead against the run of play against Serbia before conceding twice in first-half injury time and a third shortly after the break, but two goals inside three minutes brought them level and earned them a decent point.

However, following their defeat to Switzerland in the opening round they need to beat Group G leaders Brazil to have any hope of making it out of the Group Stage.

Selecao lay down the marker

Brazil’s win over Switzerland in round two was earned courtesy of a late Casemiro strike and they can be confident of topping the group with a result in Lusail on Friday.

While a lot has been said of their devastatingly talented attacking players, Tite has this side keeping it incredibly tight at the back as well and that could put them in good stead the further we go into this competition.

Expect another comfortable win

The Selecao are yet to allow their opponents a shot on target in the World Cup and they have kept 12 clean sheets in the 17 undefeated matches since their Copa America Final defeat last year.

They have won ten of these to nil and I’m backing them to make it 11 on Friday, while a repeat of their 2-0 win over Serbia looks likely against a Cameroon side that have conceded four goals so far.

Tite may decide to rest some players on Friday but, if he starts, Richarlison must be considered in the anytime goalscorer market. He has scored nine goals in his last eight appearances for Brazil and no player has scored more Brazil goals since he made his debut in 2018.
