      Cardiff vs Blackburn Predictions

The Welsh club haven’t enjoyed a great Festive period suffering defeats at Birmingham and MK Dons before a draw against Nottingham Forest last time out. They are now 6 points off the play-off places and Russell Slade won’t want to see that gap grow any more as we head into the 2nd half of the season.

At home though Cardiff are very tough to beat. They’ve only lost 1 of their last 14 at the Cardiff City Stadium in the league in a run stretching back into last season. Therefore there is quite a bit of security in backing them to win at 5/6 in the ‘Draw No Bet’ market.

It’s a bit of a surprise that these sides are available at similar odds to win this match. Blackburn are 6 places below Cardiff in the league and haven’t scored in any of their last 3 matches, losing both their festive fixtures including a disappointing 1-0 defeat at local rivals and rock bottom Bolton Wanderers last time out.

Paul Lambert did make a good start to his reign but his side’s inability to score goals is becoming a bit of a concern and it is hard to see them going to Cardiff and winning the match.

There have been a total of 2 or fewer goals in all but one of their last 6 matches and they’ve lost their last two games 1-0. The postponement of their home game with Middlesbrough means this is their 3rd successive game away from home and a repeat result would be no surprise so consider backing a 1-0 home win at 13/2.
