Cardiff should be backed to beat Stoke at home in a huge Championship relegation six-pointer on Saturday. 

The visitors have lost five times in their last seven away games and that might cost them on the trip to the Welsh capital.

Stoke are two places above Cardiff in the table, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. The hosts are 22nd with nine wins and 17 defeats, while Stoke are 20th with ten wins and 17 losses.

Stoke have been disappointing in front of goal away from home this season, scoring just 15 goals in 20 games – an average of 0.75 goals a game on the road.

Their defence has also been leaking goals on their travels. The visitors have conceded on each of their last eight Championship road trips.

Cardiff may be able to edge out Stoke in a close game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Six of Cardiff’s nine Championship wins this season were by a single goal and both teams have scored in nine of Cardiff’s last 11 games and each of Stoke’s last three.
