Blackburn Rovers 2-1

Reason for tip

Blackburn have scored at least twice in each Championship match this season and could replicate this feat against a Burnley side on a two game losing run across all competitions.

Burnley vs Blackburn Rovers Predictions

  • The Clarets have lost their last two in all competitions
  • Rovers are unbeaten in the Championship this season
  • Burnley won this contest 3-0 in their last meeting in 2022

Blackburn to claim first derby win since 2010

Blackburn have adapted to life without last season’s top scorer Sammie Szmodics in fantastic fashion and they could continue their impressive form with victory over bitter rivals Burnley at Turf Moor.

Rovers are unbeaten in the Championship with two wins and a draw from their three league matches so far and they have netted eight goals in the league – a tally that is only bettered by Burnley with nine.

The Clarets started the season in emphatic fashion however they have suffered a slump as of late – losing 1-0 to Sunderland in the league before being beaten 2-0 by Wolves in the Carabao Cup – and they have sold a number of key first team players including Sander Berge, Dara O’Shea and Wilson Odobert.

While Scott Parker has made some new signings – notably Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United – it will take time for the new faces to find their feet and this could open the door for an in-form Blackburn. Rovers have scored twice in each league game so far and they could do so again, with a 2-1 final score drawing some appeal.
