      Celta Vigo to Win

      Reason for tip

Celta Vigo look the value play at Balaídos. They’ve won three of their last four league games and continue to score consistently, finding the net in 19 of their last 20. Espanyol’s away form has dipped with back-to-back defeats on the road, and Celta’s growing momentum gives them the edge despite the league positions.

      Celta Vigo 1-0

      Reason for tip

A 1-0 Celta Vigo win fits neatly. Nine of their league matches have gone under 2.5 goals — more than any side in Primera — and they edged Alavés 1-0 last time out. With Espanyol unreliable away from home and Celta tightening things up, another narrow, low-scoring home victory looks the most likely outcome.

      Celta Vigo vs Espanyol Predictions

Celta Backed to Continue Revival Against Espanyol

Celta Vigo look the best bet when they host Espanyol on Sunday at Estadio Abanca Balaidos.

Sixth-placed Espanyol are seven places above Celta Vigo in 13th, having won five and lost four of their 12 games, while the hosts have three wins, seven draws and three defeats.

Celta Vigo kept up their recent winning trend with a 1-0 victory away to CD Alaves last weekend, and will have been happy with the three points having been priced at 2/1 to win the game.

The home side are hitting their stride – Celta Vigo have won three of their last four Primera Liga matches.

It would be no surprise to see Celta Vigo score, having found the net in 19 of their last 20 league games. They have scored in 12 games in a row and have netted at least twice in three of their last four Primera Liga matches.

The visitors’ recent away record does not inspire confidence, with Espanyol having suffered two successive defeats on the road in the Primera Liga.

With nine of Celta Vigo’s games this season finishing with fewer than three goals – more than for any other team in the league – a narrow 1-0 win for the hosts appeals as the correct score. Celta Vigo were 1-0 winners against CD Alaves in their last Primera Liga game.
