Celtic vs Sturm Graz Predictions

Celtic struggling

Celtic lost 2-0 to Scottish Premiership strugglers Dundee at the weekend and on current form are impossible to support at odds-on when they host Sturm Graz in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Bhoys have now won just three of their last nine matches in all competitions, one a League Cup tie against lower-league opposition and the other two league victories where they scored the winners against Motherwell and Kilmarnock in the 92nd and 96th minutes respectively.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have failed to score in three of their last four games, they are now five points adrift of league leaders Hearts and protests about the board disrupted their loss to Dundee on Sunday.

Given the issues off the field and on the pitch, it is hard to have any faith in this side getting the job done when they host this solid Austrian outfit Sturm Graz.

Visitors could deepen Hoops’ woes

The visitors beat Celtic’s rivals Rangers 2-1 last time out and were a touch unlucky to lose 2-0 to Midtjylland in their previous Europa League group stage match.

Sturm are top of the league domestically after winning seven of their first nine games of the season and look overpriced in the double chance market to further deepen Celtic’s woes.

Six of Celtic’s last eight games have gone under 2.5 goals and a repeat of that is fancied of that is fancied here, take a 1-1 draw.
