Chambly vs Lyon Betting Tips

Mid-table National League side Chambly have the pleasure of hosting on of France’s largest clubs, Lyon, in French cup action on Wednesday night. The minnows have won two of their last three games, including most notably a 4-1 thrashing of Stade de Reims in the previous round of this competition.

Meanwhile, Lyon’s Ligue 1 battles continue. They did well last week in the Coupe de la Ligue, but ultimately came up short against PSG, but they then followed that result up with a crucial 1-0 defeat at the hands of St Etienne.

Figuring out the way forward for this club is difficult. There’s clearly talent on this squad, but they seem vulnerable and at some point, they do need to string some victories together if they seriously want to compete for European football places next season.

Three Reasons for Betting Tips

1. Tough place to go

It’s hard to ignore that Chambly crushed Reims in the previous round of this competition. This is perhaps a tough place to travel and we’re not expecting an easy trip for Reims.

2. Out of sorts Lyon

Their form is sporadic, their focus is likely to be on Ligue 1 football and we’re not totally sold on the possibility that Lyon will turn up to this game ready for a scrap.

This game has the feel of an upset, and if not that, then a tight game that goes the distance.
