      Charlton vs Leeds Predictions

It’s hard to really know what to make of either side right now. Inconsistency is clearly a problem for both managers but both may feel they have seen just enough in recent matches to suggest that they will avoid the trap-door.

That is certainly true of Leeds who were impressive 2-1 winners against high-flying Hull City last time out. They have won 3 of their last 5 matches under Steve Evans so look to be on the up but there were still poor performances and defeats against Rotherham and QPR in that run.

Charlton’s nightmare run was ended by back-to-back wins against Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham but they have slipped back into a losing habit since then. They were crushed 3-0 at home by Ipswich and suffered heartbreak last weekend when they let a 2-0 lead slip to fall to a 3-2 defeat away at league leaders Brighton.

The Addicks scored 2 excellent goals on the break in that match but this is likely to be a very different kind of game. Leeds won’t commit as many men forward as Brighton did and Charlton will have to work harder to create openings something they have struggled to do.

Unfortunately for them and as their defensive record will testify, this Charlton defence always gives the opposition a chance and Leeds could just capitalise on that.

At 8/11 Leeds look good value in the ‘draw no bet’ market given their opponents have lost 11 of their last 14 matches and remain in the bottom three.

Steve Evans’ side lack the sort of killer instinct that makes you think they’ll run away with it like some teams have done against Charlton over the past few months though. Therefore consider backing a 2-1 away win at odds of 17/2.
