Charlton vs Northampton predictions, betting tips & match preview

Charlton started life in League One badly with a 2-0 loss away to Bury. Many of their new signings featured heavily during the game but none were able to make a huge impact. As for Northampton, the Cobblers had a better weekend. They managed a 1-1 draw at home to Fleetwood Town. On this basis, although not getting an amazing result themselves first time up, Northampton will be going into this match against Charlton being the more confident of the two teams. Especially since they triumphed in mid-week over Championship opposition in the cup.

Having said this, though, they are likely to be up for this fixture having lost both last weekend and during the week in the EFL Cup. The hosts will be desperate to open their account for the season and are expected to attack plenty in this game. Their opponents leaky defence is likely to give the hosts confidence and they are fancied to find the net at the third time of asking here.
