Charlton vs Rotherham Predictions
Rotherham have made an awful start to the season with just 1 point coming from their opening 5 matches and they are already looking very much like relegation candidates. They have conceded 13 goals already and if they don’t turn the corner soon they’d be in danger of getting cut adrift like Blackpool were last season.
They aren’t as bad as the Tangerines in all fairness, but it’s still hard to see them getting anything from their trip to The Valley, given Charlton have been playing well under Guy Luzon and 8 points from 5 games represents a solid start for them.
They’ve won all three home matches so far and their two league games at the Valley were both against clubs who were relegated from the top flight last season. Therefore they look great value at Evens to make that 4 home wins out of 4 against the division’s bottom club.
Rotherham aren’t completely toothless in attack though so they might not have the game all their own way. The Millers have scored in all but one of their seven matches so far this season and Steve Evans isn’t the sort to just set his sides up to sit back and hope for a draw.
They scored twice against a strong QPR side in their last Championship away game and you can certainly see them getting on the scoresheet on Saturday against Charlton, who despite a strong recent home record, have conceded in 6 of their last 7 Championship games in South-East London.
Therefore we are likely to see a few goals and the most likely correct scoreline bet is perhaps backing a 2-1 home win at 15/2, which was the same margin Charlton managed when Hull visited before the international break.
