PSG To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

PSG demolished Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-finals to make it ten wins from their last 11 competitive games. The last seven of these victories have been to nil, including against Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, and Inter Milan, while Chelsea have only generated 3.72 expected goals in normal time across their three knockout ties, despite facing inferior opposition.

PSG 2-0

Reason for tip

Chelsea have looked relatively solid at the back so may fare better than Real Madrid in that respect, but PSG have scored at least twice in ten of their last 11 matches and have won by a 2-0 scoreline in two of their last four.

Ousmane Dembele To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Ousmane Dembele returned to the starting lineup for the first time since the Champions League final last time out, scoring and assisting in PSG’s 4-0 thrashing of Real Madrid. This followed his goal from the bench against Bayern Munich, and he can end his season on a high on Sunday.

Chelsea vs PSG Predictions

  • PSG have won ten of their last 11 competitive games, keeping a clean sheet in their last seven victories.
  • PSG have only conceded one goal in the Club World Cup.
  • Chelsea have generated just 3.72 expected goals in normal time in the Club World Cup knockout ties.

Les Parisiens demolish European giants

PSG humiliated Real Madrid to make it to the Club World Cup final on Wednesday, and they are justified favourites to lift the trophy for the first time at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Les Parisiens followed their deserved win against Bayern Munich with a 4-0 thrashing of Los Blancos, with three goals in the first 25 minutes putting the game beyond Xabi Alonso’s side.

Almost as impressive as their incisive attacking work was the control Luis Enrique’s side exerted over the game. They had almost 70% of the ball, and limited Real Madrid to just two shots on target and 0.68 expected goals, which could be a concern for a Chelsea side that haven’t exactly been prolific this summer.

Maresca’s Blues face tough task

The Blues deserved their 2-0 win over Fluminense in the semi-final, but they have generated just 3.72 expected goals inside 90 minutes in their three knockout-stage matches, despite playing largely inferior opposition when compared to PSG’s run of Inter Miami, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid.

By contrast, PSG have generated 7.04 in their three knockout ties and have limited their opponents to 1.66 expected goals.

Dembele to lead favourites to glory

Sunday’s favourites have now won ten of their last 11 competitive games and have conceded just once in the Club World Cup. Each of their last seven competitive victories have been accompanied by a clean sheet, so backing them to win to nil in the final appeals.

They have won by a 2-0 scoreline in two of their last four matches, and Chelsea have looked relatively solid at the back, so that looks a solid correct score prediction.

Ousmane Dembele is worth consideration in the anytime goalscorer market, too. The France international started for the first time in the tournament against Real Madrid and picked up a goal and an assist, while he also found the net from the bench against Bayern Munich.
