Netherlands vs Norway Predictions
- Netherlands have won their last three matches with a combined total of 17 goals (16 For, 1 Against).
- Norway have scored in 13 of their last 14 away Nations League and qualifying fixtures.
Dutch must regroup for final test of tight group
The Netherlands will feel they should have already secured their Qatar 2022 qualifying berth, but still need to do a job against Norway in their final Group G game on Tuesday night.
Louis van Gaal’s troops threw away a two-goal lead in Podgorica to leave the door open for Turkey to pinch the automatic path to the finals if they don’t avoid defeat and at least match The Crescent-Stars result in Montenegro. Van Gaal has made a success of his third stint in charge of the Dutch so far, but all that could be forgotten if they are not competing alongside the world’s best next year, so there is huge pressure on this Rotterdam renewal.
Oranje were the better side when these met two months ago in Oslo with Davy Klaasen canceling out Erling Haaland’s opener in a 1-1 draw. Haaland is absent through injury right now, so the scale of the task is eased for a Dutch side who have been almost perfect at home in recent years.
Goals on the cards in Rotterdam
The Netherlands have won their last nine games on home soil and can make it ten in a row with a victory that is likely to feature a few goals. Norway have scored regularly on their travels in the past couple of years – with or without Haaland – while the Dutch have racked up big scorelines against lesser nations recently.
Therefore, it should be profitable to side with a home win including at least three goals on Tuesday with a 2-1 prediction preferred.
