Cheltenham vs Braintree Betting Tips

Cheltenham’s emphatic 7-1 victory over Halifax Town on Saturday really put a stamp on their promotion credentials. They were only leading 2-1 at half time, but a blistering second half performance saw them come away with a huge win.

This was their 8^th league win of the season, with four draws and two losses making up the rest of their 14 results.

This puts them in 2^nd in the Conference National with 28 points so far, just one point behind league leaders Forest Green Rovers.

This good start to the season will have them confident about their chances to make a quick return to League Two following their relegation last season.

Braintree have started impressively as well though. They lost their opening two games of the season, but since then have only lost two of their following 12 games, with seven wins and three draws giving them a tally of 24 points.

This puts them in 6^th position, but a win on Tuesday could send them as high as 3^rd position.

This is an excellent start for a side who finished in 14^th position last season, and they will be hoping to continue this run in order to earn promotion to the Football League for the first time in their 117 year history.

Braintree have won three of their last five games in the Conference, with only a 1-0 loss at home to Guiseley and a goalless draw at Dover seeing them drop points.

Away from home their record is excellent. They have won five of their seven away days so far this season, and their only loss of the season away from home came on the opening day of the season.

Cheltenham lost their last home match against Tranmere Rovers, a result which halted their five match winning streak on home turf after they drew their opening home match of the season.

This is a tough match to call. Both teams come into this game in almost identical form when you look at the home and away records, so in this scenario I’m going for the best odds in order to maximise value. Backing a Braintree Win or Draw Double Chance at 19/20 looks very good value considering they have only lost one of their seven away games this season.
