Robins Must Bounce Back

Cheltenham put in a horrow show at home to Cambridge on Tuesday, losing 5-0 and conceding four goals in the second half.

That was a first defeat at Whaddon Road for six weeks for the Robins, and I expect a response in this fixture, especially against a Lincoln side who are woefully out of form.

Town have suffered back to back losses, but those matches ended an eight game unbeaten run. They are reasonably strong at home, scoring in six of their last eight, and I expect them to come good in this fixture.

Lincoln Desperate For A Win

The Robins will be looking to exploit Lincoln’s serious issue of defending in the second half, with the Imps regularly shipping goals after the break.

Seven of the last eight goals Michael Appleton’s side have conceded have come following the interval, while the second half has outscored the first in 16 of their 27 games this season, including 12 of their last 16 outings.

This is an issue City will be aware of and will be working on, but given Cheltenham’s recently ability to score (and concede) second half goals, backing the second half to have the most goals is an option I favour here.

I do think both teams will net, as neither defence is particularly strong, but I predict the hosts will outscore their visitors, with a 2-1 correct score prediction to Cheltenham.
