Chicago Fire vs FC Dallas Predictions
Chicago Fire drew 1-1 away at Columbus Crew last time out and remain tenth in the Eastern Conference table, while this weekends’ visitors Dallas became the latest team to beat the MLS’s latest franchise, Cincinnati, securing all three points via a comfortable 3-1 scoreline.
All of the stats suggest that we will see both teams score and be treated to over 2.5 goals on Saturday, with Chicago Fire the most likely team to secure a victory.
While Dallas lead the overall head to head record between these two clubs it’s Chicago Fire that have enjoyed more success in this fixture in recent seasons. Chicago Fire have won five of the pairs’ last seven meetings and were victorious in their last four home games against Texan club. Chicago Fire have beaten Dallas by one goal in four of their last five wins over Saturday’s guests, which is why we’re expecting the home side to win by just the odd goal this weekend.
The form of both teams home and away makes for interesting reading and suggests that Dallas could struggle despite outperforming their hosts so far this season. Chicago Fire are unbeaten in their last three home games and are without a win on the road in their last three matches, while Dallas haven’t won any of their last three away games but have won their last three at home, so both teams are performing much better in their own backyards but have struggled on the road.
This game looks set to produce at least three goals and we expect both teams to get on the scoreboard in the process, as five of the pairs’ last seven encounters have seen both teams score and over 2.5 goals and three of Chicago Fire’s and four of Dallas’ last five matches have also seen both teams score and over 2.5 goals.
We’re confident that both teams will score and over 2.5 goals will be produced in Saturday’s clash and have predicted a final scoreline of 2-1 in favour of Chicago Fire. The hosts look strong at home and have had the better of Dallas in recent seasons, while their guests are without a win on the road in their last three attempts. This game looks set to be close and competitive but we’re backing Chicago Fire to just do enough to claim all three points.
