Cliftonville have found themselves slipping further and further behind the Northern Irish Premier League frontrunners in recent weeks, with last weekend’s 1-0 loss away from home leaving them nine points behind 2nd placed Linfield and 16 points adrift of league leaders Crusaders.

Last weekend’s defeat wasn’t the first disappointment they have bestowed upon their fans recently. They have won just two of their last eight games in all competitions, drawing three and losing three and getting knocked out of the Irish Cup on penalties in the process.

Both of these victories have come at Solitude though, and their home form is pretty difficult to beat. They have won 12 of their last 14 games and lost just once, which was a 4-0 hammering at the hands of the dominant Crusaders.

Glentorarn played out a goalless draw at home to Glenavon last Saturday to take their form record to a rather disappointing two wins, four draws, and five defeats in their last 11 outings in all competitions.

This leaves them 8th in the league table with 32 points from their 28 games so far. They are already seven points adrift of the top six, which allows them entry to the playoffs for a Europa League spot. They managed to sneak into that in 6th last season, but this term it’s looking increasingly likely that they’ll miss out.

Away from home their form is surprisingly good though. They have won their last two trips away and have only lost once in their last eight outings on the road. This includes them picking up points at both Crusaders and Linfield, so they will feel like they have a genuine chance of upping their points tally on Friday.

Considering this recent away record and the fact they have picked up points against the two best teams in the division away from home, odds of 6/4 for a Glentoran Win or Draw Double Chance look good value for money, and I’m going for a 1-1 correct score predictions at 15/2 as well.
