- Cologne have scored in six of their last eight, but have won just two of those matches.
- Borussia Dortmund have scored in each of their last 23 Bundesliga games.
- Each of the last four meetings between these two sides have seen both teams score.
Dortmund to outscore opponents again
A run of three wins from their last four Bundesliga games has reignited Borussia Dortmund’s hopes of securing a top-four finish this season.
BVB’s success has been largely built on their firepower up front, as only league leaders Bayern Munich have scored more goals in the Bundesliga this season than Dortmund’s total of 52.
Indeed, Edin Terzic’s side have scored in each of their last 23 Bundesliga games, while in Erling Haaland they have a striker that is averaging more than a goal a game across all competitions.
Cologne could prove the ideal opponents for Dortmund, as Saturday’s hosts have picked up just one point from their last five league games and remain deep in a relegation battle.
Markus Gisdol’s side have particularly struggled on home soil, as only seven of their 22 Bundesliga points have been picked up at the RheinEnergieStadion this season.
Indeed, only bottom of the table Schalke hold a worse home record in the division than Cologne and we are predicting the hosts to suffer another defeat on Saturday.
However, we do predict Cologne will get on the scoresheet, as they have netted in six of their last eight games, while both teams have scored in each of the previous four meetings between these two sides.
