Cologne to punish travel-sick Heidenheim

Cologne should be backed to get a win at home to Heidenheim on Sunday.

Both teams are at the wrong end of table, with Cologne four places and nine points above Heidenheim. The hosts are in 14th place, having won seven, drawn 11 and lost 14 of their 32 games this season. They have won nine of the 18 clashes between teams in the bottom five (50%) for a profit of 1.28 points to a one-point level stake.

Cologne will be optimistic of finding the net, having scored in 16 of their last 17 league games. They have not failed to score in eight Bundesliga games and recorded a 3-1 win over Werder Bremen last month.

Heidenheim are in a rut. They have failed to win any of their last ten Bundesliga away games.

They have been disappointing in front of goal away from home this season, scoring just 15 goals in 16 games – an average of 0.94 goals a game on the road.

The visitors have struggled defensively of late. No team has conceded more goals in the Bundesliga this season than Heidenheim’s 69 in 32 games, and they have failed to keep a clean sheet in 32 of their last 33 matches. They have yet to keep a clean sheet away from home this season, after 16 road trips.

Cologne may be able to edge out Heidenheim in a close game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Both teams had scored by half time when they last clashed in the Bundesliga in January, and there should be goals for both sides here.
