Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

The Dutch scored 10 times in the group stage, but they haven’t kept a clean sheet across seven matches in 2026. Morocco have scored in eight straight games, but they’ve struggled for clean sheets in that run. The Atlas Lions beat Haiti 4-2 in their last game, so goals should be on the cards here.

Draw 2-2

Reason for tip

The Netherlands drew 2-2 in their opening group game against Japan, and they failed to beat both Ecuador and Algeria in their warm-up matches. Morocco haven’t lost within 90 minutes across their last 34 games, and the Dutch haven’t been beaten in normal time at this tournament since a loss to Portugal 20 years ago.

Ismael Saibari To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Saibari has scored in all three group games, and he can continue that scoring streak with Morocco looking sharp in the final third.

Netherlands vs Morocco Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in six of the Netherlands’ seven games in 2026
  • Morocco have scored in all eight games under Mohamed Ouahbi, but they’ve kept only three clean sheets
  • The Dutch scored 10 times in the group stage
  • Saibari has scored in all three of Morocco’s games at the tournament

Little advantage for Dutch

In a tournament where eight of the 12 group winners will face third-place finishers, the Netherlands have drawn the short straw. They topped Group F with seven points, and their reward is a clash with a Morocco side that reached the semi-finals in Qatar in 2022.

The Atlas Lions look as dangerous as ever, with Mohamed Ouahbi making them a little more forward-thinking since taking over in the aftermath of their run to the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year. They also won seven points in the group stage, and they were the stronger side in their 1-1 draw with Brazil in their opener.

Unbeaten Morocco have stepped up in attack

With their 4-2 victory over Haiti, Morocco are now unbeaten in 34 matches, dating back to the knockout stages of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

While they had to grind their way through AFCON on home soil, they’ve scored in all eight of their matches under new manager Ouahbi. They really let the handbrake off against Haiti, generating 3.76 Expected Goals.

Forward Ismael Saibari, who plays in the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven, has benefited from that attacking focus. He’s scored in all three games, and the striker should continue his scoring streak in what is set up to be an open contest.

Defensively, they do look a little more open, having only kept clean sheets against Burundi, Madagascar, and Scotland since Ouahbi took charge. While Morocco may be a little more reserved in knockout football, they’re playing a Dutch side that has been clinical in the final third.

Koeman’s side are happy to trade blows

This Netherlands side aren’t considered a classic Dutch team going forward, but they’ve already scored 10 times at this World Cup. They’ve only topped that total in five previous tournaments, making the final four on every occasion.

However, Koeman’s side are vulnerable at the back. They’ve conceded in all seven matches they’ve played in 2026. Ecuador, Algeria, and Uzbekistan breached their defence in warm-up friendlies earlier this year, and they failed to shut out a lacklustre Tunisian side in their final group game.

Their back-and-forth group clash with Japan feels like a similar test to the one that the Dutch face in Monterrey. However, Japan were lacking key names in the final third, while Morocco’s full-strength front four have been sharp.

With Morocco sharing six goals last time out, this should be a high-scoring contest. Both teams to score stands out at a shade under evens, while this even clash could go the distance, with a 2-2 draw the correct score selection.
