Crawley Town vs Scunthorpe Predictions
- Crawley Town have scored in each of their last 9 matches.
- Crawley Town have conceded 2 goals or more in each of their last 3 matches.
- Scunthorpe have scored in 73% of their away matches.
- Scunthorpe have conceded 2 goals or more in each of their last 5 matches.
Getting over the line
While Crawley Town have got a large gap between themselves and the drop zone, they also have quite a lot of work to do in order to chase down the top seven. The hosts have been putting in some solid performances but despite only suffering one defeat in their last eight matches, they will be frustrated by the fact that they have frequently had to settle for a share of the spoils in that run.
However, Crawley are able to find the back of the net on a fairly regular basis as they have scored in each of their last nine league matches, but with only one clean sheet in that same time frame, it is easy to see why they have not been able to convert more of those outings into wins. What is also noticeable about this run is that, although they are scoring plenty, they have been required to do so as they have conceded at least two goals in each of their last three matches.
Rebuilding after a poor start
Things did not exactly go to plan for Scunthorpe United in 2019 as they firstly suffered relegation from England’s third tier and despite plans to bounce back as soon possible, they had to wait a long time to find some form in League 2. Since then United have been playing catch up, and although things have improved, they are still a long way from where they would have hoped to be at the start of the season.
The visitors have been scoring pretty freely of late and they come into this match having found the back of the net nine times in their last seven outings. However, scoring goals has not really been their issue this term, it is keeping the opposition at bay at the other end. Scunthorpe have conceded two or more in seven of their last eight league matches and have conceded 45 times in their 30 matches this season.
Goals, goals, goals
While both of these two sides are playing some of their best football of the season at the moment and both are more than capable of earning the three points, we think that there is a market which is far more reliable to earn money from. The hosts are in good form and are finding the back of the net on a regular basis, which is also something which is true of the visitors. However, the visitors also have a record of conceding plenty and it is this which has convinced us that backing there to be over 2.5 goals scored is the way to go.
In terms of a correct score bet, we think this one has the potential to be a bit of a thriller. The hosts have scored eight times in their last four matches and are against a side who have conceded 12 times in their last five. If we look at the other side of the coin, the hosts have conceded seven in their last four while the visitors have scored five times in their last four. All in all, we expect goals and a big 3-2 home win is where out faith is going in this fixture.
