Crystal Palace vs Manchester City Predictions

Crystal Palace have had an incredible start to the season considering their first half of last season put them under serious threat of relegation.

They opened the season with a 3-1 victory over Norwich, but then fell to Arsenal at home somewhat unfortunately.

But they bounced back quickly from this and beat Aston Villa, then progressed in the Capital One Cup in midweek before getting an excellent 2-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

This puts them very high up the table, with only Manchester City sitting above them in the Premier League.

They have scored in every competitive game they have played this season, netting 12 times in their five matches so far.

Manchester City have also been in good scoring form. They have bagged ten goals in their opening four games, and are yet to concede.

This makes it four wins out of four for the Premier League title favourites, and the addition of Kevin De Bruyne is only going to strengthen their already formidable attacking threat.

Crystal Palace got the better of Manchester City in the corresponding fixture last season, with a 2-1 victory giving them a deserved three points. Before that Manchester City had the advantage though, with them winning the previous five games.

With Crystal Palace in very good attacking form, I can see them breaking Manchester City’s clean sheet run on Saturday. The absence of Gael Clichy and Pablo Zabaleta certainly won’t harm Palace’s chances.

Wilfried Bony and Fernando are also missing for the league leaders, but with their wealth of options in midfield and attack I don’t think that will affect them that much.

I’m expecting a high scoring match on Saturday as two of the most impressive teams so far this season go head to head. Odds of 21/20 for Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals look very good value to me.
