Crystal Palace vs Stoke City Predictions
- Palace have won both of their FA Cup ties without needing extra time.
- Stoke are winless in four and have lost their last two.
- The Eagles can name their best available XI as they are nine points clear of the Premier League’s bottom three.
- Stoke have conceded two goals in each of their last four games.
Potters unlikely to trouble Palace
Crystal Palace come up against Championship side Stoke City in the FA Cup on Tuesday and the Premier League club should be able to avoid an upset.
The Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley at the weekend but they were perhaps unlucky not to take all three points.
The Potters appear destined for mid-table mediocrity in the second tier as their promotion hopes have all-but disappeared after a four-game winless run, losing their last two games, and their FA Cup hopes could well be ended at Selhurst Park.
Vieira free to pick best XI
Palace also seem set to finish in the middle of the pack in the top flight as the European places are out of reach but it is hard to see them being dragged into a relegation scrap.
Palace have just one win in their last five games but they have also only lost one of those, and home advantage combined with that extra bit of quality should be enough to see them over the line in this cup tie inside the 90 minutes.
A straightforward home win is my main bet here and a 2-1 win for Palace has some appeal. Stoke have conceded exactly two goals in each of their last four and their last two games have been 2-1 defeats, while Palace have only managed two clean sheets in their last nine home games.
