CSKA Moscow vs Wolfsburg Betting Tips

CSKA Moscow are on a bit of a poor run at the moment. They have lost four matches on the trot in all competitions, beginning with their 1-0 loss to Manchester United and continuing through to their 2-0 loss at home to Krylya Sovetov on Saturday.

This ended their five match unbeaten streak, and despite this poor form they are still top of the Russian Premier League table and in with a shout of qualifying from their Champions League group.

They lead the Premier League by five points after 16 games, and they are only two points adrift of PSV and Wolfsburg in 2^nd and 3^rd place in Group B respectively.

Should PSV lose to Manchester United on Wednesday, a win for CSKA Moscow would see them move into 2^nd position with just one game left to play.

But Wolfsburg will be hoping to move into the knockout stages themselves. They are behind to PSV on head to head results and only one point off group leaders Manchester United. A win for them would see them definitely move into the top two of the group.

Wolfsburg’s 6-0 win over Werder Bremen at the weekend will have instilled some confidence into the squad after they suffered back to back defeats against PSV and Mainz.

This makes it three losses and two wins for Wolfsburg in their last five matches, putting them in 3^rd position in the Bundesliga with 24 points from their opening 13 games.

Wolfsburg have won two of their three meetings with CSKA Moscow, but the only match in Moscow ended in a victory for CSKA.

Wolfsburg will be high on confidence after their big win at the weekend, and I think they can get one over on the out of form Russians. Odds of 8/13 for a Wolfsburg Win or Draw Double Chance look excellent value as well, so that’s what I’m backing.
