Denmark Draw No Bet

Reason for tip

Czechia have failed to win three of their last five home games and were not at their best against Ireland on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Denmark thrashed North Macedonia 4-0 and looked good.

Denmark 2-1

Reason for tip

Denmark have scored multiple goals in their last six games and kept three clean sheets during that run. Czechia have conceded twice in two of their last four games, but usually score at home, so take a 2-1 win for the visitors.

Czechs could be bounced out at home

Denmark are on the rise again and can overcome Czechia in a winner-takes-all World Cup play-off clash in Prague on Tuesday. The Danes dominated North Macedonia in Copenhagen on Thursday, winning 4-0, and will fancy their chances of overturning their hosts, who are without some key players.

The absence of experienced goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek means Matej Kovar is now the Czechs’ first choice, but he was pretty statuesque as the Republic of Ireland went 2-0 up via a penalty and an own goal, that came back off the bar and ricocheted in off his back.

Miroslav Koubek’s side roared back to level and take the game to extra time before Kovar proved to be the hero with two penalty saves in the shootout. However, the keeper is not in the greatest form of his career and will be put under pressure by a free-scoring Danish side.

Danes are better without Schmeichel

Conceding too many goals had been the main reason why Brian Riemer’s men didn’t qualify automatically, although they were virtually home and dry after Patrick Dorgu’s late leveler at Hampden in November. However, two famous Scottish stoppage-time strikes saw them drop into the play-offs.

Kasper Schmeichel’s career has taken a downward turn since then and the gloves have passed over to West Ham’s Mads Hermansen. He is more commanding and agile than his predecessor was latterly and gives them a more solid feel.

The Danes are backable to win in Prague with Isaksen, who impressed with two of their four goals against North Macedonia, a pick to get a goal in a possible 2-1 win. However, take the visitors in the Draw no Bet market, just in case the hosts can stage another late show to take it beyond 90 minutes.
