Deportivo La Coruna vs Mirandes Predictions

The tie is all square after a 1-1 draw in the 1st Leg at the Estadio Municipal de Anduva last week. Álex Ortiz had given the Segunda Division side the lead but Depor grabbed a crucial leveller with 15 minutes to go through Lopo and will be firm favourites to progress now.

They may name a slightly stronger side for this one too having made wholesale changes for the 1st Leg with it coming just 3 days prior to their trip to the Bernabeu which ended in a 5-0 defeat on Saturday. Depor have been going well overall though and had only lost 3 of their 21 matches this season prior to that and they remain in 9th place in La Liga.

Mirandes are also in 9th place in the Second tier and do have real cup pedigree having made the Semi-Finals of this competition a few years back. They won the 2nd leg away at top flight Malaga in the last round so this tie is by no means dead.

They could only draw at the weekend though at home to lowly Almeria in the league and if Depor bring in at least a few more senior players for this one, which they are likely to do, they may find it tough to match the Galicians. Certainly at 8/11 there is value in backing the top flight side to win given they have home advantage this time around.

Deportivo have an extra day off also this week before they visit Real Sociedad in the league on Saturday and taking the Copa del Rey seriously is worth their while given they are probably a bit short on quality to really challenge for a European place through the league but are in no danger of going down.

They are having a great season despite that big defeat in Madrid and are worth a punt at 13/2 to bounce back with a 2-0 win here.
