      Derby vs Cardiff Predictions

The Rams had gone 10 games unbeaten in the Championship, winning 8 of them until they suffered a surprise defeat to local rivals Nottingham Forest last time out. They’ve had over a fortnight to mull on that loss and will be determined to get back to winning ways here.

Derby slipped to 5th in the Championship as a result of that loss but are only 4 points below leaders Hull. They’ve won all of their last 4 home games and have only conceded in 1 of their last 5 matches on home soil.

Cardiff are only 2 places below them in 7th place so this won’t be a stroll in the park for the Rams. The Welsh club haven’t made for great viewing in recent weeks though. Only 4 goals have been scored in their last 6 matches although positively from their point of view, they have scored 3 of them including two in their last match, a 2-0 win over Reading. They’ve not won any of their last 5 away matches though and are sure to come here with a cautious attitude and hope a defence that has let in just 1 goal in 6 league matches can steer them to another solid result.

You have to go back to the beginning of October for the last time both teams scored in a game involving Cardiff. Meanwhile both teams have scored in only 1 of Derby’s last 5 matches and just 1 in their last 5 at the iPro Stadium.

Therefore surely backing ‘No’ in the both teams to score market is the way to go here and you can do that at 8/11.

With home advantage though you have to fancy a strong Derby side to just edge this one, especially given the visitors poor away form. It’s unlikely to be a classic but you can back Derby to win 1-0 at 5/1.
