Derby vs Leeds Predictions
Incredibly both sides have drawn all four games they have played in the Championship so far this season and both clubs were also knocked out in the 1st Round of the League Cup so are looking for a first win here. Therefore you’d be hard pressed to confidently back either side here and Derby look short at 4/7 given the poor start they have made under new boss Paul Clement.
They have dominated possession in many games but have lacked cutting edge. The absence of Will Hughes who has picked up a serious injury has left them struggling for creativity in the middle of the park. Up front, Clement is struggling to decide upon his preferred strikers with Darren Bent, Chris Martin and Andreas Weimann amongst his many options but none of the trio have made convincing starts to the campaign.
County have just 4 goals in 5 matches so far under the former Real Madrid coach and that alone suggests Leeds have every chance of securing a result here at 7/5. The Yorkshire club have an excellent away record in the Championship in 2015. They’ve only lost 3 times on the road in this calendar year and have picked up 6 victories, double the number they have managed at Elland Road.
Leeds are also under new management in the form of Uwe Rösler and the German has impressed many so far and in contrast to pre-season promotion favourites Derby, he’ll be pretty pleased with an unbeaten start and the draws at least provide him with some solid foundations to build on.
This is a big game for both clubs and it will be a long international break if there is a loser here but right now neither side are really doing enough to convince you that there’ll be a winner. So backing a Leeds/draw double chance at 7/5 looks to offer excellent value.
Both sides have been involved in three 1-1 draws already this season so odds of 6/1 for a repeat here look generous.
