Dinamo Brest vs Dinamo Minsk Predictions

  • Three of Dinamo Brest’s four home league games have seen both teams score.
  • Dinamo Minsk have scored in five of their seven Belarus Premier League matches this season, keeping just two clean sheets.
  • Dinamo Minsk have lost two of their three away games this season, conceding 1.67 goals per game on average.

Champions look to build momentum

Reigning Belarus Premier League champions Dinamo Brest haven’t started their title defence in the best fashion, but after thrashing Belshina 3-0 away from home last weekend they will be hoping to start building some momentum with another win on Sunday.

This ended a run of three consecutive defeats, although the most recent of these did see them progress to the Belarus Cup Final on away goals. That 4-2 at Shakhter thriller highlighted both their strength in attack and their vulnerabilities at the back.

This season, Dinamo Brest have scored in five of their seven top flight games, but they have only kept two clean sheets and one of those came against bottom of the table Belshina last weekend.

Dinamo Minsk struggling on the road

Dinamo Minsk have an identical record in this department, finding the net in all but two league games this term but only keeping two clean sheets in the process. Both of these clean sheets came on home soil too, so they won’t be confident of shutting Dinamo Brest out on Sunday.

The visitors’ away form is a concern, too. They have lost two of their three trips away this term, and their singular victory came against a Smolevichi side who are yet to win a game since their promotion to the Premier League.

Fragile back lines on show on Sunday

With both teams showing decent form up front and glaring weaknesses at the back, plus the fact that each of the last four meetings between these sides have seen both teams score, we’re backing both teams to get on the scoresheet on Sunday.

We’re also expecting Dinamo Minsk’s poor away record to come back to haunt them. Dinamo Brest may not be the force they were last season, but they’re clearly one of the top teams in this division and face a visiting side that have lost two of their three away days. They have conceded 1.67 goals per game away from home on average this season, so a 2-1 victory for Dinamo Brest looks a good shout.
