Djurgarden
Apoel Nicosia

Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Djurgården are exceptionally strong in front of goal, scoring in twelve of their last 13 matches, of which nine have contained three or more goals. Meanwhile although APOEL are yet to concede this season, this is a big step up in the quality of opposition, and they finished 2021/22 with five of their seven games seeing both teams score and three or more goals.

Djurgarden 2-1

Reason for tip

APOEL tend to struggle away from home in Europe, winning just three of their last 10 away ties, despite scoring in four of them, whereas Djurgården are unbeaten in 11 at home, scoring at least twice in 10 of those outings

Djurgarden vs Apoel Nicosia Predictions

  • Djurgården have failed to score in just two of their last 11 home European matches
  • APOEL are on a run of six games in ten seeing both teams net
  • Both teams have netted in five of Djurgården’s last seven outings

Djurgården on a strong run

Swedish outfit Djurgården have been enjoying themselves in recent months and come into this clash on a run of 13 games without defeat.

Nine of those fixtures have contained at least three or more goals, while seven have seen both teams score, so while they are strong going forward, they are far from bulletproof at the other end.

The Stockholm outfit have also seen three or more goals and both teams score in seven of their last 13 outings in European football, so the trend seems to happen domestically or in continental football.

APOEL shaping up well

APOEL on the other hand are yet to concede this season, coming through all four of their Europa Conference League qualifying matches with a clean sheet.

This fixture certainly seems like a step up compared to Botev Plovdiv and Kyzyl-Zhar though, and they had in fact kept just one clean sheet in their previous six European outings.

Sofronis Avgousti’s side finished last season with seven consecutive games in which both teams scored, five of which contained in excess of three goals.

I predict there will be three or more goals in this game and that both teams will score, selecting 2-1 to the hosts as a correct score prediction.
