Dundee United vs Dunfermline Predictions
Dundee United had an excellent start to life in the Scottish Championship after their relegation from the top flight last season, but their bid for an instant return has hit a few stumbling blocks since the turn of the year.
Their 1-1 draw at home to Falkirk on Saturday makes it four wins, four draws, and eight defeats in their last 16 outings in all competitions, leaving them 4th in the Championship but with only a six point cushion on 5th placed Queen of the South. If they don’t start picking up points more regularly they could easily find themselves out of the playoff positions.
In fairness they are a much better side at Tannadice Park. They have only lost there once this season, but the poor form has taken it’s toll on their home performances and they have only won two of their last six games there in the league.
Dunfermline haven’t ruled out a playoff spot just yet, but they really need to avoid defeat on Tuesday if they want to stand any chance of catching their opponents. The visitors are currently 6th in the table, nine points adrift of 4th placed Dundee United and only eight above the relegation zone.
They are in decent shape at the moment though, beating Raith Rovers on Saturday to make it three wins, four draws, and just one defeat in their last eight outings in the Championship.
Their good form travels on the road with them too. Dunfermline have won four, drawn three, and lost just one of their last eight away days in the Scottish Championship, keeping five clean sheets and only failing to score twice.
I do think the visitors have a great chance of getting something from this game. Odds of 1/1 for a Dunfermline Win or Draw Double Chance look good value for money, so I’m backing that along with a 1-1 correct score predictions at 6/1.
