Expect Goals as Elfsborg Entertain Leaky Varnamo

Monday’s Allsvenskan clash between Elfsborg and Varnamo at Boras Arena promises goals. Back over 3.5 goals, with Elfsborg’s strong attack taking on Varnamo’s leaky defence.

Elfsborg have scored 33 goals and conceded 23 in 18 games this season, while Varnamo have shipped 33 and scored 17 in the same number of matches.

Elfsborg are third in the Allsvenskan, 13 places and 27 points above rock-bottom Varnamo. The hosts have won 11 of their 18 games this season while the visitors have just one win so far, to go with five draws and 12 defeats.

They have won three of their last four Allsvenskan matches, including a 2-1 win over Hacken and a 4-3 victory against IFK Gothenburg last week.

Varnamo’s 2-2 draw with GAIS last weekend extended their run of matches with four goals or more to three in a row. Marcus Antonsson gave them the lead in the second minute, with Otso Liimatta also scoring.

Five of Elfsborg’s nine home league games this season have finished with over 3.5 goals, and three of Varnamo’s eight away games this season have also featured at least four goals.

A 3-1 win for Elfsborg is an attractive correct-score bet. Both teams have scored in Varnamo’s last three Allsvenskan games and they have been on the wrong end of a two-goal deficit in five matches this season.
