Elfsborg look primed for victory

It has been a solid enough season for Elfsborg so far, who return from the international break looking to build on a four game unbeaten run on home soil.

Three of those matches have ended in victory, while Jimmy Thelin’s side have only suffered one defeat in their last six matches at all venues.

This is their first game for a month following the international break, so there may be some rustiness, but they prepared for this fixture by beating Helsingborg 1-0 at the Boras Arena in a friendly last week.

Varbergs must improve away

Varbergs also played a friendly last week, but they could only manage a 1-1 draw against second tier side Norrby, a result that pretty much reflects their disappointing campaign.

Joakim Persson’s side sit just above the relegation zone after 10 games and they have picked up just four points from five matches on the road, that courtesy of a draw, win and three defeats.

Those hat-trick of losses have all come against sides above them in the table, with their lack of goals a real problem – their total of nine scored is the lowest in the entire division.
