Both Teams To Score - No

Reason for tip

Both teams have not scored in Empoli’s last four matches or in three of Torino’s last four games. Empoli have failed to score in three of their last four home league contests and will probably struggle to break down a Torino side with back-to-back clean sheets to their name.

Torino 1-0

Reason for tip

Torino beat Empoli 1-0 in Turin late last year in a game of few chances and there’s no reason to expect this game being any different given the home side are still struggling to score. The Blues have shipped exactly one goal in three of their last four home league games.

Empoli vs Torino Predictions

  • Both teams have not scored in Empoli’s last four matches
  • Both teams have not scored in three of Torino’s last four games
  • Empoli have failed to score in three of their last four home league contests

Goals may be scarce in Empoli clash

Don’t go to Stadio Carlo Castellani if you want goals this weekend as Empoli are the only team in Serie A that have not scored in their last four games.

Torino have kept back-to-back clean sheets ahead of this contest and will feel confident again after turning both of those solid defensive displays into victories.

The visitors could also welcome striker Tonny Sanabria back into their starting line-up. The Paraguayan, who hit 12 Serie A goals last season, is ready to start again after three consecutive bench appearances during which he managed to grab two crucial goals.

Torino can repeat 1-0 win from December

Ivan Juric will probably drop David Okereke, who has not scored in five games, to partner Sanabria with nine-goal Duvan Zapata – the man who got the winner when these sides last met in December.

Another 1-0 win for Torino could be possible here with Empoli not conceding many at home of late.

The Blues side have shipped no more than once in their last four games at home, but have managed to score only once during that sequence. If Zapata and Sanabria fail to find a way through, as Geona and Monza did recently, this game should have an even greater chance of seeing one or both teams keep a clean sheet.
