England vs Brazil Predictions
- Brazil have lost their last three matches
- England have won their last five home games
- The Three Lions have conceded just once in their last five home matches
England well placed to kick on again
With less than three months to go before the Euros, England are favourites to go one better than they did three years ago and claim only their second major men’s football title.
However, Gareth Southgate’s team were underwhelming in their last couple of appearances, posting a lacklustre 2-0 win over Malta before a draw in North Macedonia against a team they beat 7-0 in an earlier qualifier.
A friendly against Brazil should ensure a decent atmosphere at Wembley, where the Three Lions have won their last five matches, and they face the South Americans at a good time.
Testing times for South American giants
The Selecao have lost their last three World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay, Colombia and Argentina, and that last 1-0 loss against their biggest rivals led to the sacking of Fernando Diniz and Dorival Junior takes charge for the first time.
He faces a tough task as Alisson, Casemiro and Neymar are all out injured, which represents the spine of the team from recent season and much will be required from Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior is they are to get a positive result against Southgate’s side.
Harry Kane has been nursing an ankle injury, but that should give either Ollie Watkins or Ivan toney the chance to impress, and with places for Germany up for grabs, there should be plenty of players looking to impress.
England should win and, as they have kept four clean sheets in their last five home matches, a 2-0 victory appeals from a correct-score perspective.
