Espanyol vs Real Betis Betting Tips and Predictions

Two sides who are just above the relegation scrap meet here with Espanyol and Real Betis both confident they can stay in the division but not really in a comfortable enough position to be able to afford a poor run of form. Both sides have turned a bit of a corner in recent weeks after really poor runs over the Festive period and into January.

Espanyol had picked up just 2 points from 8 league games when they hosted Deportivo a fortnight ago but a crucial 1-0 win grabbed them a much needed 3 points and they backed that up with an impressive 4-2 win at Sporting Gijon last weekend so they’ll come into this game with confidence. They are now level on points with opponents Real Betis and 4 points above the relegation zone.

Betis went 12 matches without a win in all competitions before beating Valencia 1-0 in early February. They’ve drawn their last 3 matches to extend their unbeaten run to 4 games but just 1 win in 16 matches is still a worry for the Seville club.

Both teams have looked a bit more dangerous in front of goal in recent weeks but it’s hard to see there being many here with neither side likely to be too cavalier in their approach. Real Betis have the worst goalscoring record in the league while only 3 sides have scored fewer goals than Espanyol. Therefore backing there to be under 2.5 goals at 3/4 may be the best approach here.
