Estoril to continue winning start

Estoril got their return to Primeira Liga off to a great start last week with a 2-0 win over fellow promoted side, Arouca, last weekend. The victory would’ve given the side plenty of confidence heading into this game, something buoyed by their great season last term, where they won Segunda Liga by four points. Their first home game will be one they will want to win and there is plenty of confidence amongst the players.

Vitoria Guimaraes didn’t get off to an ideal start, losing 1-0 to Portimonense at home. The side lacked a lot of penetration in the final third as they struggled to break down the stubborn opposition but it would’ve certainly been a letdown following a good season where the side narrowly missed out on European football. Goals were the main problem for the side with just 37 of them in 34 games and things haven’t looked to improve this season based on last week’s game.

There looks as though there could be a real lack of goals in this game as Vitoria continue to struggle to find the net. Estoril averaged just under two goals a game at home last season but this is a higher level and that output isn’t sustainable. With all of that in mind, we’re backing this game to have under 2.5 goals. Estoril looked really confident last week though and we think they will pick up another win this time around as we back them to win this game 1-0.
