Everton vs Norwich Predictions
- Norwich have lost their last 15 Premier League matches.
- Everton have only kept one clean sheet in seven games under Rafa Benitez.
- Everton have won three of their five top-flight matches this season.
Everton optimistic despite defeats
Everton’s unbeaten start to the season came to an abrupt end at Villa Park last weekend and while they did follow that up with a midweek Carabao Cup exit they should have more than enough to bounce back on Saturday.
Three goals in nine second-half minutes saw the Toffees’ trip to Aston Villa end in disappointment but, barring that brief spell, Everton were nowhere near as bad as the scoreline suggests. They have still collected ten points from four league games this term and they’re up against the worst side in the division at Goodison Park.
Farke under fire at Carrow Road
Norwich continued their pointless start to the campaign with a deserved 3-1 loss at home to fellow newly-promoted side Watford last weekend and a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool’s heavily rotated side ensured it would go down as another abysmal week at Carrow Road.
Daniel Farke’s side have now lost six of their seven competitive games this season and, with an extraordinary run of 15 Premier League defeats in a row, the pressure is ramping up on the German manager.
Toffees set to pile misery on visitors
The Canaries have scored just three goals in this 15-game stretch and away from home they have lost eight top-flight games in a row. With Everton largely looking an improved outfit under Rafa Benitez it’s worth backing them to win despite their injury problems.
However, these injury problems could allow Norwich a rare goalscoring opportunity. Jordan Pickford and Seamus Coleman are both ruled out while Lucas Digne is a doubt after being taken off in midweek, so I’m backing a 3-1 correct score prediction.
Andros Townsend is also worth consideration in the goalscorer market. The summer signing scored again in midweek to make it three goals in his last five appearances and he’s facing a Norwich defence that were torn apart by fellow right-sided midfielder Ismaila Sarr last weekend.
Everton predicted lineup: Begovic; Holgate, Mina, Keane, Godfrey; Townsend, Doucoure, Allan, Iwobi; Gray, Rondon
Norwich predicted lineup: Krul; Kabak, Hanley, Gibson; Aarons, Gilmour, Lees-Melou, Williams; Sargent, Rashica, Pukki
- Everton have won and both teams have scored in their last two Premier League home games
- Four of Everton’s last six Premier League home games have produced over 2.5 goalsn
