      Everton vs Sunderland Predictions

Sunderland look to build on their first Premier League win of the season, but they’ll find it difficult when they visit Everton on Sunday. Our free betting tips suggest that both sides will find the net.

Everton have rather unsuccessfully weathered a trio of very difficult Premier League encounters, yielding one point from matches against Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal.

They now face the much more pleasant task of hosting Sunderland, but they couldn’t manage to beat the out of form Norwich in normal time in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.

They didn’t field a weakened squad for this match either, so being taken to penalties will have been disappointing for Roberto Martinez.

They are still doing better than they were last season though, sitting in 11th position with a return of 13 points from their opening ten games.

Sunderland managed to get their first win of the Premier League season last weekend, and what a game to get it in. It would be hard to say that they deserved the 3-0 victory over arch rivals Newcastle, but the result is all that matters.

This dragged them off the bottom of the table and up to 18th position, and another win on Sunday could see them escape the relegation zone for the first time this season.

This derby victory will have boosted their confidence enormously after a shocking start to the season, and new boss Sam Allardyce will be hoping he can kick on and save Sunderland.

Both sides have struggled to keep a clean sheet this season, with them shipping a combined 32 goals in their 20 games so far.

But the attacking play hasn’t been bad. Everton have scored in five of their last six games in all competitions, whilst Sunderland have only failed to score four times in their 12 matches in all competitions.

This makes me lean towards a Both Teams to Score bet, and odds of 5/6 for this outcome look pretty good value to me. I don’t think Sunderland can build on their win last weekend though, so I’m also going for a 3-1 correct score tip at 12/1.
