      Everton vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions

A sensational game at Goodison Park on Monday saw Everton collapse defensively. They were 3-2 up against Stoke going into the final ten minutes, but ended up losing the game 4-3.

This was Everton’s 2nd defeat in their last five games, and only one of these matches has resulted in a full points haul for an Everton side struggling for wins.

This relatively poor form has put Everton in a rather disappointing 11th position in the Premier League, although they are only five points adrift of the Europa League qualification positions.

But I think the home side could struggle against on Sunday. Star striker Romelu Lukaku has a habit of failing to perform against the top sides in the league, and with the form Tottenham Hotspur are enjoying they can definitely be classed as a top side.

Spurs have won their last three matches in the Premier League and have won nine of their last 13 in all competitions. Only one of these 13 games has ended in defeat as well.

This has taken them to the prized top four position that they are always aiming for, and they have opened up a four point gap between them and 5th place. Spurs are only four points off the Premier League leaders Arsenal as well.

The visitors are in much better form than Everton coming into this clash, and they will take heart from the fact that they haven’t lost to the Goodison Park outfit since 2012. Three of their six matches since then have seen Spurs take all three points.

With Everton struggling for wins and Lukaku struggling against the top defensive outfits I think they will struggle on Sunday. Spurs have the best defensive record in the league and Mauricio Pocchettino’s high pressure tactics won’t allow Lukaku and Ross Barkley much space to manouevre.

This makes odds of 1.875 for a Spurs 0.0 Asian Handicap Win look really good value for money, and I’m also going to back a 2-1 Spurs win at 10/1.
