      Exeter City to Win

      Reason for tip

Exeter stunned highflying Lincoln with a surprise away win last week and they can back it up with a home win over poor-travelling Reading this weekend. The Grecians ended a five-match losing streak with the win over the Imps and they can edge further away from the danger zone this weekend.

      Exeter City 1-0

      Reason for tip

Reading have scored on each of their last four visits to Exeter but that run may be ended this weekend as their away woes continue. The Royals have won just one of eight away matches in all competitions this season and they have scored just six times in five away league matches this term. A 1-0 home win looks a decent bet.

      Exeter City vs Reading Predictions

      • Reading have won just one of eight away matches in all competitions this season
      • The Royals have scored just six goals in five away league matches this term
      • Exeter shut out fourth-placed Lincoln last week

Royals can be ruled out of an away victory

Exeter produced a smash and grab to win 1-0 at highflying Lincoln last week and the boost provided by that shock win could lift the Grecians to a victory over Reading.

Kevin MacDonald’s last gasp winner ended a five-match losing streak for Exeter who begin this round of matches in 17th spot, just two places above their visitors from Berkshire.

Reading are unbeaten in four meetings with the Devon-based outfit, but they are the model of inconsistency this season and their away form has been particularly weak.

Noel Hunt’s side have won just one of their eight away assignments in all competitions in this campaign and we predict another setback for the Royals.

Goals have also been an issue, with Hunt’s outfit scoring just six times in five away fixtures, so a low-scoring home win looks a solid option in this clash.

Keeping a clean sheet at Lincoln was hugely impressive, so Exeter are fancied to back it up with a 1-0 win at St James Park on Saturday.

The Grecians have failed to score in their last three outings on home soil, so one goal may be all it takes to nick another crucial victory against their travel-weary visitors this weekend.
