Tip Reasoning

Den Bosch have triumphed in six of their last seven encounters with Dordrecht, and The Blue White Dragons look great value at a touch of odds-against to win the argument again when the teams clash for the second time this season at Riwal Hoogwerkers Stadion on Sunday. With the hosts languishing in 19th after suffering consecutive defeats at the end of 2018, this fixture presents the league leaders with a good opportunity to ease their way back into things after the Christmas break and extend their impressive unbeaten run.

Indeed, that unbeaten run now stands at 13 for Wil Boessen’s side who were last defeated 1-4 by Almere City in late September, and they’ve racked up a whopping 10 victories in that sequence to move to the top of Eerste Divisie at the halfway stage.

Their lead is only a slender one though with Go Ahead Eagles just one point behind in 2nd place, whilst Sparta Rotterdam and Twente are also firmly in the automatic promotion picture in 3rd and 4th respectively, just a further point in arrears.

So Den Bosch have to pick up from where they left off in 2018 this Sunday to keep staving off their nearest challengers – but things could look very rosy for them in a few weeks’ time considering that five of their next six games are against teams in the bottom half.

The Blue White Dragons were far from their fluent best when they hosted Dordrecht in the reverse fixture at Stadion De Vliert back in October, but they got the job done thanks to a goal from Juventus loanee Stefano Beltrame who is currently the club’s top scorer this term with seven to his name.

Along with Rauno Sappinen and Sven Blummel, Beltrame forms a formidable front three for Den Bosch who have 19 goals between them this season, and the trio should get plenty of joy this weekend against a Dordrecht back line that’s conceded 37 in 19 league matches thus far.

It’s no surprise with such a porous defence that Dordrecht have lost 12 of those 19 games, and they’ve lost three of their last four at Riwal Hoogwerkers Stadion against Volendam (1-2), FC Eindhoven (0-3) and latterly Oss (0-1).

Den Bosch have proved so far this campaign that they’re a cut above those three sides, and with six victories and two draws garnered from their nine away outings to date, there’s little to suggest that Dordrecht can stop them in their tracks this Sunday, even though they’ll be turning out under the guidance of new manager Claudio Braga for the first time.

Den Bosch’s 1-0 win in October’s reverse fixture only adds to that notion, and all in all it would be a huge surprise were the front runners to slip up here, even though three of their last five league games have finished all square.

So we’re recommending a three point stake here on the visitors who should also secure the Period 2 table with a win (as immaterial as that may be considering Den Bosch are 12 points well in to the Play-offs spots in the main standings)and 0-2 is our correct score prediction for the action at Riwal Hoogwerkers Stadion this Sunday.
