FC Porto to Win and Over 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Porto have won twice in the Champions League this season, scoring seven goals, included the four they netted in last month’s 4-1 victory at Antwerp.  The Belgian side have lost all three of their group stage matches, with over 3.5 goals being scored across each of those defeats.

FC Porto 4-1

Reason for tip

Porto were 4-1 winners over Antwerp in Belgium last month and they can repeat that scoreline at the Estadio do Dragao. Antwerp are conceding at an average of four goals-per-game in this Champions League group, but they have scored in their last two matches in the competition.

FC Porto vs Antwerp Predictions

  • Porto have scored seven goals across their two wins in this season’s Champions League
  • Over 3.5 goals have been scored in all three of Antwerp’s Champions League group games
  • Porto won the reverse meeting between the two sides in Belgium 4-1

Hosts to win high-scoring contest

Porto were convincing 4-1 winners over Antwerp when these two sides met in Belgium last month and the Portuguese giants have won two of their three matches in this season’s Champions League, scoring seven goals in the process.

Sergio Conceicao’s side did see their four-match winning streak snapped by Estoril in the Primeira Liga on Friday night, but that may have been because their focus was on this European clash, as a victory on Tuesday would move Porto a step closer to qualification for the knockout stages.

Antwerp provide plenty of entertainment

Antwerp’s debut season in the Champions League has not gone well, as they have lost all three of their matches in Group H, conceding 12 goals in the process – the most of any side in this season’s competition.

Mark van Bommel has at least seen his side score three goals across those defeats and over 3.5 goals have been netted in all three of Antwerp’s group games.

At least three goals have been scored across each of Antwerp’s last seven matches in all competitions and that looks set to occur again on Tuesday, but given the Belgian’s struggles in Europe, Porto will expect to contribute most of those goals and they can replicate their 4-1 victory from two weeks ago.
