Inter Milan vs Cagliari Predictions
- Fewer than four goals have been scored in Inter’s last five Serie A games
- Fewer than four goals have been scored in six of Cagliari’s last seven matches
- Cagliari have conceded no more than two goals in nine of their last 11 away league games
Missing men on both sides in Milan
Inter are closing in on the Scudetto but Sunday’s visit from a Cagliari side that have found some recent form will not be an easy game for them.
The Nerazzurri have not been putting teams away with the same ease of late and will also have do without suspended 28-goal top scorer Lautaro Martinez this weekend.
Benjamin Pavard also serves a one-game ban while Cagliari, who have won three of their last five Serie A games, will be without three key players. Midfielders Nahitan Nandez and Alessandro Deiola are suspended while attackers Andrea Petagna and Leonardo Pavoletti are unavailable due to fitness issues.
Rossoblu rarely fall hard away from home
Rossoblu coach Claudio Ranieri can still rely on the services of the experienced Gianluca Lapadula as well as Eldor Shomurodov, who recently returned from a long-term injury.
Cagliari battled back from a goal down to beat Atalanta last weekend and have been tough to score against on the road of late. They held an Udinese side — that were within minutes of doing the same to Inter last week — to a 1-1 draw and beat Empoli 1-0 at their place.
It may be better to take the odds of this game featuring fewer than four goals than put a big stake on the Nerazzurri to win at desperately short odds. Simone Inzaghi’s still have more than enough quality to get the job done, but they have had more games feature fewer than four goals (five) than wins (four) in Serie A since the start of March.
