      Over 3.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Porto are in ruthless form and goals look inevitable when they host AVS Futebol SAD. Porto have won 14 of 15 league games this season and have scored three or more goals in six of them. AVS are bottom, winless, and defensively fragile, conceding at least twice in every away game and losing their last four road matches without scoring. With Porto dominant at home and AVS offering little resistance, over 3.5 goals looks the standout angle.

      FC Porto 3-1

      Reason for tip

A 3-1 home win fits the data well. Porto are averaging over two goals per game and regularly create chances in volume, but they have conceded in three of their last five league matches, which keeps the door open for a consolation goal. AVS have shipped multiple goals in all seven away games this season and no Primeira Liga side has been involved in more high-scoring matches. Porto’s attacking depth should tell, even if they do not keep a clean sheet.

Porto to Pile on the Pressure Against Bottom-Club AVS

Porto have enjoyed success in ten of their last 12 home games in the Primeira Liga and will be confident of getting a result when they host AVS on Monday. Goals are on the cards here – back over 3.5 goals.

Porto are top of the league, having won 14 and drawn one of their 15 games this season, while AVS are bottom, with no wins, four draws and 11 defeats. Last season, Porto finished with 71 points and AVS had just 27.

Porto maintained their winning habit with a 3-0 victory over Alverca in their last Primeira Liga game, Borja Sainz firing two goals, including the opener on 29 minutes. They have won all 13 games in which they’ve scored first this season.

Porto have kept things tight at the back this term. No Primeira Liga side has shipped fewer goals than the four that Porto have conceded in their 15 games, and they have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just two goals in seven games – an average of 0.29 goals per game.

Their current form makes for encouraging reading. They have not tasted defeat in the Primeira Liga in 18 games, and are aiming for an eighth straight success. In contrast, AVS have lost three of their last four.

Porto may find it easier than usual to break down the hosts’ defence. They have scored three goals or more in six of their 15 league games this season and have a run of seven consecutive games with a goal, including a 3-0 win over Alverca last Monday.

The visitors’ recent away record is dire, with no wins in nine of their last ten Primeira Liga games on the road. AVS have lost ten of their last twelve away matches and are currently on a run of five consecutive defeats away from home.

The goals are not flowing for the visitors, with AVS having lost their last four Primeira Liga games on the road without scoring. They have been disappointing upfront away from home this season, with just four goals in seven games – an average of 0.57 goals a game.

The visitors have struggled defensively of late, conceding at least twice in all seven of their Primeira Liga away games this season. It’s now 16 league games since AVS last recorded a shutout, with their last clean sheet coming against Estrela in May.

A 3-1 home win for Porto is an appealing correct-score bet. No team has played more Primeira Liga games with four goals or more than AVS this season, and Porto have won the last two meetings with them by at least two goals.
